“What began as a desire to create realistic lightsaber effects for home movies at the age of 15 developed into a passion for all things graphic design.”

BIO

My name is Scott Walker. I'm 34 years old, and I've been in the world of graphic design for over half my life, with over 18 years of experience. In that time, I've worn many hats and have had the wonderful opportunity to express my creativity and love for design through the ideas of many amazing people and clients.

Born and raised in the small desert town of California City, California, I moved out to Las Vegas at 21 to pursue a career in graphic design. In the 6 years I spent in Vegas, I had the privilege of working with many of the country's leading real estate development brands, from Richmond American Homes to Pulte, and many more. My work has been displayed on billboards all over the valley from Southern Highlands to Green Valley, and Summerlin to North Las Vegas. You'd have a hard time driving down any road in town without seeing something that I had a part in creating.

It was during that time that I had the opportunity to break into a field that has always been near and dear to my heart—the film industry. I was hired by multiple film start-ups to build out their branding, design one sheets for upcoming features, and even dabble in a bit of the behind-the-scenes work with video editing and post-production.

I took my shot as a freelance designer and have successfully pulled off multiple rebrands of well-known restaurants on the strip, as well as designing a number of interior signage displays for hotels like Mandalay Bay, The Luxor, and Hard Rock. In my 6 years, I was given the opportunity to share my abilities with some of the biggest names in the industry, and work with some truly amazing people. It is a time in my life that I will always hold onto.

In 2016, I messaged a friend that I had met on MySpace (Super old OG social network for the youths out there that may not remember) many years prior, and told her that I was tired of the dating scene in Vegas, and that I'd like to take her out for dinner. Well, the downside of this is that she lived in Alaska. It didn't bother me; I maxed out my only credit card on a flight out there. I landed in Anchorage, Alaska, took her out to eat at Moose's Tooth Pizza, hung out for a couple of hours, then hopped right back on a plane to make it home in time for work.

Needless to say, it was the single most expensive date of my life, but it paid off, as 8 short months later I was packing my bags, traveling through Canada, into Alaska and moving in with her. She's now my wife, and we have a beautiful 2-year-old son, Atlas, so I guess you could say it worked out!

I now spend my time in Wasilla, Alaska, taking on projects ranging from intricate SquareSpace website builds to corporate rebrands, film & television graphics, logo designs, and much more for both local Alaska residents and clients spanning the globe. My passion for graphic design has only intensified over the years, and I've learned more than I could ever say along the way.

Now that you know a little bit about me, let's talk about you. What's your passion? What's your project?

Let's make it cool.
